| * Job Context * JiVitA, a leading maternal and child health and nutrition research project by Johns Hopkins University in Bangladesh, operates in Gaibandha District with its project headquarters (PHQ) in Rangpur City. Registered with the Government of Bangladesh NGO Affairs Bureau, JiVitA focuses on advancing public health research to improve maternal and child health outcomes. JiVitA is seeking qualified applicants for one research statistician position to support its ongoing research efforts. * Job Responsibilities * Explore collected data to assess the overall quality of the data by calculating summary statistics, analyzing data distributions, and conducting tests to identify potential biases or errors. * Use statistical techniques (e.g., z-scores, standard deviation) to identify and validate outliers. * Check for data entry errors or logical inconsistencies (e.g., age height, weight etc. within biologically plausible values). * Assess plausibility of collected data with existing standards and guidelines to ensure it aligns with expected values and distribution, such as anthropometric measurements against established growth charts (WHO, CDC growth standards). * Communicate findings to the data and science colleagues and work together to handle missing, invalid, outrange or inconsistent, or outlier values. * Maintain liaison and communication with investigators, data managers, and field implementation team to understand the data collection process, identify potential issues, and recommend data quality improvement strategies. * Document and maintain a record of all data checking and cleaning steps and create reproducible scripts (in R, Stata, SAS, etc.) for quality check and cleaning. * Create tables and figures to review data and share preliminary findings with the study team and eventually for publication. * Write statistical methods sections of the study protocol, reports, and manuscripts. * Conduct descriptive analyses and inferential analyses to investigate study research questions in conjunction with study investigators. |

| Additional Requirements |
| Experience Requirements 3 to 5 years of experience in public health research, clinical trials, or a related field, with substantial hands-on experience in statistical analysis, data quality monitoring, and data management. Additional Requirements Strong knowledge of statistical research methodologies, data management, and clinical trial requirements. Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, and other relevant tools. Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis, randomization, and quality control in public health studies. Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data issues early and resolve them proactively. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams simultaneously, contributing proactively to achieving project goals.
