Job Context
Job Responsibilities
* Project Context:

* Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement FIVDB- GIZ-SHADE Gender Responsive Approaches to Conflict Resolution Intervention in Teknaf implemented FIVDB, Cox’s Bazar Project under its Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Program, Cox's Bazar in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

* Project Duration:

* The duration of the project is 18 Months (to be extended subject to the provision of project extension afterward). The position will be recruited for implementing the project based at the Field Office at Teknaf with substantial field activities at different camps and host communities. The job is contractual for the project period with a three (3) months’ probation period.

* Job Responsibilities:

* Project Officer will be responsible for the effective management, implementation and support of Conflict Resolution and Peace building Interventions in his/her assigned working areas under FIVDB-GIZ-SHADE Project in compliance with the FIVDB policies, procedures and donor compliance. S/he will manage, supervise and support community facilitators, peace mediators and peace promotion groups and take initiatives to build their capacity for effective planning, implementation of project activities in close collaboration with stakeholders, following project guideline and humanitarian standards. S/he will closely work and maintain effective coordination with Technical Specialists, M&E Officer, Finance and Admin Officer, Project Coordinator and other relevant personnel. S/he will establish and maintain liaison and close coordination with local Govt. administration, humanitarian agencies, NGOs, site management, protection actors and other stakeholders. S/he will also ensure project implementation meets the global/organizational standards of emergency responses and donors’ compliance aspects; ensure project monitoring mechanism is established and functional to ensure quality implementation and downwards accountability. S/he will be reportable to the Project Coordinator, FIVDB-GIZ-SHADE Project, FIVDB.

* Key Area of Responsibilities:

* The position holder is responsible for quality ensuring and improving the Conflict Resolution of the FIVDB-GIZ-SHADE Project as per the signed agreement.

* S/he will be responsible for working closely with technical specialists to facilitate training sessions at the field level

* S/he will be responsible for Working closely with Project Coordinator to facilitate training sessions at the field level

* S/he is responsible for the timely and quality implementation of conflict resolution and peacebuilding activities, compliance with donor rules and regulations, and effective stakeholder relationship management.

* S/he is responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the partner and different sectors in project locations.

* Monitor participants/beneficiaries' progress during sessions and refer individuals showing signs of psychological/emotional distress to case workers and/or appropriate service providers.

* Ensure that best practices are used and that case files are filled out correctly and conduct pre/post-test client wellness/functioning to measure effectiveness.

* Provide technical support to mediator forums and peace promotion group

* Documentation of referral services

* Assist in Developing case studies and success stories

* Preparing project deliverables as per the project design for donors

* Any other duties assigned by respective supervisors

* Ensures that FIVDB and GIZ’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and FIVDB’s Code of Conduct (CoC), PSEA Policy, their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Additional Requirements
Age at least 25 years TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE ESSENTIAL: Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in conflict resolution, peacebuilding and protection sector having strong knowledge and understanding on Humanitarian and conflict mitigation issues. Knowledge: Good knowledge and understanding of Do No Harm principles and other humanitarian standards. Comprehensive understanding of the Humanitarian architecture of the Rohingya Response it’s operating and regulatory environment. Good understanding on gender, gender based violence and prevention. Good understanding on child safeguarding and equality for girls. Knowledge and understanding of FIVDB’s vision, mission values. Strong planning, budgeting, financial management, project implementation skills. Strong management, supervisory and coaching skills, and able to support and train staff to work with disaster affected communities in a sensitive and participatory manner. Strong ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders as a representative of organization, Strong presentation and facilitation skills. Prior experience on designing and delivering training, workshop and other capacity building initiatives with a variety of audiences. Strong negotiation and networking and coordination skills. Demonstrates skill on problem-solving, decision making. Analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiatives. A positive and friendly personality who collaborates well with others, works with trustworthiness and integrity and has a strong commitment to organization’s core values and humanitarian principles. Has a capacity to make accurate self-assessment particularly in high stress and high security contexts. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity. Has experience and the ability to live and work in diverse cultural contexts in a culturally appropriate manner. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. Fluency in English and Bangla both reading and writing. Ability to prepare reports independently.
